Crown of stars

A portrait of Sarah, the main character from my novel Cold Blood.

The blue roses symbolise mystery, reaching the impossible, patience, eternal hope and the purity of an impossible love. In the context of the story, this flowers are linked to a legendary place called « The Blue Place », described as a kind of heaven, where the source of immortality could be found.

I made her with vertical pupils, to represent her link with the draconic spirit protecting her. She is able to turn into one and some particular features like the eyes or scales tend to stay longer, the more she transforms.

I wanted a mystic kind of atmosphere for her, since she is a character full of secrets. It is hard to read her mind. Sarah is often seen as a virginal figure or on quite the opposite, something demonic, depending on the character interacting with her.
