Self portrait

A self portrait made in the style of my floral serie. I chose some types of flowers that are dear to me and which I like the symbolism.

The mandrake is representing good fortune, wealth and power. This is a plant also deeply related to witchcraft and magic, which is a subject I am passionate about. The woody nightshade is for truth and protection.

I painted myself in one of my favorite red dresses, because I like to wear this color for luck and action. I associate it with life force and movement. The style is also a little hommage to my love for old Hollywood type of glamor and elegance.
